Boyd to Kurokawa (1967)

In October 1967 Boyd wrote to architect Kisho Kurokawa (sometimes known by the name Noriaki) about his potential inclusion in New Directions. Boyd was familiar with Kurokawa’s work and position in the Metabolist movement, particularly mentioning Kurokawa’s pavilions at the children’s park Kodomo-no-kuni in Yokohama. Boyd also sought Kurokawa’s advice and opinions on contemporary Japanese architecture for the book.
