Boyd to Professor Anderson (1961)

In this short, familiar letter to the Chair of MIT's architecture department, Boyd relates his experience meeting Kenzo Tange in Japan. Boyd and Tange shared a connection to MIT - both served as visiting professors at the school, Boyd in 1956-57, Tange in 1960. Work from Tange’s MIT design studio, titled A Community on the Sea, was an influential early example of Metabolist speculative urban planning.
