Benalla High School
Robin Boyd, 1969
Commissioned in 1967, Benalla High School was designed while Boyd was researching and writing New Directions in Japanese Architecture. The school’s expressed-concrete portal frame and precast shading planks betray clear Metabolist influence. Romberg & Boyd director Berenice Harris oversaw and completed the documentation and site supervision through to the school’s completion in 1969.
