Peggy and Dennis Warner, long time friends of the Boyds, both individually and together wrote many books on Japan, several of which are in the Walsh Street library.

In July 1961, Dennis Warner wrote a letter of introduction for Robin Boyd to Japanese architect-journalist Torao 'Tiger' Saito - Boyd was visiting the country for the first time to research his book Kenzo Tange, which was published the following year.
