Japan Interior Design No. 21 (June 1962)
The flourishing of Japanese design in the 1960s was accompanied by growing interest from Australian architects and designers. Japan Interior Design, founded in 1960, was one of the earliest Japanese design periodicals to be available with English translations, and became popular among Australian designers. In this issue, from June 1962, early articles focus on traditional Japanese architecture and interiors, standing in contrast to the contemporary modernist buildings and interiors explored in the second half. This is a rare surviving copy of this journal.
